Tighten the bolts (1) on the HPC brackets to 85-95 pound-inches (9.604-10.734 newton-meters).

Install lockwire on these four bolts (1).

(e)  Tighten the nuts (22) that connect the angle gearbox (11) to the drive shaft housing (5) to 62-72 pound-inches (7.005-8.135 newton-meters).

Install the tubes, wire bundles and fire detecters as follows (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Install the oil pressure tube for the angle gearbox (Fig. 401). 1) Remove the caps from the ends of the tubes. 2) Apply antigalling compound to the threads of the tube nut. 3) Put the tube into the adapter port (10) on the right, rear


 side of the angle gearbox (11) and attach it with the tube
 nut.
 a) Tighten the tube nut with your hand.

 4)  ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 79-54; Install the clamp bolt (40) and nut (39) that attaches the oil pressure tube to the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) bracket at approximately the 5:30 o'clock position. a) Install the bolts (44, and 46) and nuts (43, and 45)
 which attach the oil pressure tube to a Flange H brackets.
 5)  ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-54; Install the clamp bolt (42) and nut (41) which attaches the oil pressure tube to the fuel tube assembly at the approximate 5:30 o'clock position. a) Install the bolt (47) which attaches the oil pressure
 tube to a flange H bracket. b) Move the tube enough to give sufficient clearance for the angle gearbox removal. c) Tighten the clamp bolts to 36-40 pound-inches (4.067-4.519 newton-meters). d) Tighten the tube nut to 200-225 pound-inches (22.597-25.422 newton-meters) and install lockwire. e) Install lockwire or safety cable and safety ferrule.
 (b)  Install the oil scavenge tube (6) as follows (Fig. 401): 1) Remove the caps from the end(s) of the tube. 2) Install new packings (16), lubricated with engine oil, to
 the groove on each end of the scavenge tube (6). 3) Put the forward end of the scavenge tube (6) on the housing
 (5) of the horizontal drive shaft at approximately the 6:30 o'clock position. a) Install the bolts (17), threads lubricated with engine
 oil.
 b) Tighten the bolts with your hand.

 4)  Put the other end of the scavenge tube (6) to the pump port for the lubrication and scavenge oil. a) Install bolts (17), threads lubricated with engine oil. b) Tighten the bolts with your hand.
 5)  Tighten the bolts at the rearward end of the tube to 62-72 pound-inches (7.005-8.135 newton-meters).

6)  Tighten the bolts at the forward end of the tube to 85-95 pound-inches (9.604-10.734 newton-meters).
 7)  Install the bolts (15) and nuts (14) to attach the scavenge tube clamps, at four locations, to the wire bundle clamps on the No. 3, bearing oil temperature, thermocouple probe.
 8)  Install the bolt (15) and nut (14) to attach the scavenge tube clamp to the clamp on the No. 1, 1.5, and 2 bearing oil scavenge tube.
 9)  Install the bolt (15) and nut (14) to attach the scavenge tube clamp to the bracket on the right side of the housing
 (5) of the horizontal drive shaft.
 NOTE: This bracket is approximately at the 6:00 o'clock
____
 position.

 a)  Tighten the bolts to 36-40 pound-inches (4.067-4.519 newton-meters).
 (c)  Install the screw (12), washer (2), and nut (4) to attach the oil-in tube clamp of the IDG air and oil heat exchanger to the bracket (13).
 NOTE: This bracket (13) is on the angle gearbox (11) at the
____ 2:00 o'clock position.
 1)  Tighten the screw (12).
 (d)  
Install the screw (3), washer (2), and nut (4) to attach the wire bundle clamp for the fire detector element to the bracket (13) at the 1:00 o'clock position. 1) Tighten the screw (3).
