WARNING:_______ DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF
THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Open the left core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU OPEN THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Open the left thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the deoiler outlet tube as follows:
(a)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 72-275; Remove the three bolts and clip-spring bracket that attach the deoiler outlet tube to the rear of the main gearbox.
(b)
ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 72-275; Remove the three bolts that attach the deoiler outlet tube to the rear of the main gearbox.
(c)
Loosen the clamp bolt that attaches the tube for the main oil filter to the bracket, and slide bracket clear of deoiler outlet tube. 1) Move the bracket away from the deoiler outlet tube.
(d)
Remove the bolts, nuts, and clamps that attach the deoiler outlet tube to the Flange M and Flange N brackets.

Move the bracket that holds the EEC alternator leads away from the deoiler outlet tube. 1) Remove the deoiler outlet tube from the engine
(f)
Remove and discard the packing.and place protective closures on tube openings.
(g)
Put caps on the tube openings.

Remove the retaining ring that keeps the seal in its position in the ejector port.

Install PWA 85204 or PWA 88110 puller to the seal housing.
(a)
Engage the puller jaws in the groove of the seal housing.
(b)
Move the puller ring down until the jaws are engaged in the groove.

(8) Remove the deoiler seal from the ejector port with a slide hammer action of puller.
NOTE: The slide hammer action will cause a larger force than the

preformed packing.

Disengage the puller from the deoiler seal.
(a)
Discard the packing.

(10) Install a cap on the ejector port opening.
