G. Prepare for the Installation

(1) Refer to the table that follows when you measure the gap between the front fan case (24) and the outer fan exit case at Flange B.
NOTE: The dimensions in the table are given as data only.

H. Install the Front Fan Case

If you will install a new fan case (24), do the steps that follow:
(a)
Install the two bolts (26), threads lubricated with engine oil, that attach the mounting pad (25) for the vibration acceleraometer to Flange A at approximately the 1:00 o'clock position. 1) Tighten the bolts (26) to 65-85 pound-inches
(7.3-9.6 newton-meters). 2) Install lockwire on the bolts (26).
(b)
Install the brackets (10, 11, 32, 37, 38, 39, and 41) and the seven (27) brackets to Flange A1 as follows: 1) Install the bolts (28), threads lubricated with engine oil,
washers (5, 29, and 30), and nuts (31) that attach the brackets (32 and 38) and the seven (27) brackets to Flange A1.
NOTE: These are at approximately the 11:30, 11:45, 12:00,
____ 1:00, 1:30, and 2:30 o'clock positions.
a) Tighten the bolts (28) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).

2) Install the bolts (33), threads lubricated with engine oil, washers (34), and nuts (35) that attach the brackets (10, 39, and 41) to Flange A1.
NOTE: These are at approximately the 1:30, 2:00 and 3:00

a) Tighten the bolts (33) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
3) Install the bolts (36), threads lubricated with engine oil, washers (5 and 29), and nuts (31) that attach the brackets (11, 37, and 38) to Flange A1.
NOTE: These are at approximately the 1:45 and 2:00 o'clock

positions.
a) Tighten the bolts (36) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).

Install the front fan case (24) on the engine as follows:
(a)
Install the PWA 85677 handling bracket to the front flange of the front fan case (24) at the 12:00 o'clock position.
