 (3)  S 016-012-N00Open the core cowl panels (AMM 71-11-06/201).

Open the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove lining segment No. 4 of the fan exit (AMM 72-34-03/401).

Examine the angle gearbox for signs of oil leakage.

 (a)  
If you find oil leakage around the angle gearbox, replace the angle gearbox (AMM 72-62-01/401).

Examine the angle gearbox for cracks.

 (a)  
If you find cracks, replace the angle gearbox (AMM 72-62-01/401).

 (8)  
Examine the angle gearbox for signs of corrosion.

 (a)  
Areas with corrosion of less than 0.050 inch (1.270 mm) in depth are permitted.

 (b)  
The angle gearbox is serviceable if all of the conditions that follow occur. 1) The depth of the corrosion is equal to 0.050 inch (1.270

 mm). 2) The area of the corrosion is less than 1.00 square inch (645 square mm). 3) The corrosion is more than 2.00 inches (50.80 mm) away from other corrosion.

 (c)  
If the corrosion is more than the limits given, replace the angle gearbox (AMM 72-62-01/401).

 (9)  
Install the lining segment No. 4 of the fan exit (AMM 72-34-03/401).

 Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
