_______ OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the EEC alternator stator and rotor (AMM 73-21-05/401).

Remove the retaining ring that attaches the alternator oil seal to the space in the EEC alternator drive pad.

Install the PWA 85723 puller to the seal housing.
(a)
Engage the puller jaws in the groove of the seal housing.
(b)
Move the puller ring down until the jaws are engaged in the groove.

(8) Remove the alternator oil seal with a slide hammer action of the puller.
NOTE: This slide hammer action will cause a force that is larger
____
than the preformed packing.

Disengage the puller from the alternator oil seal.
(a)
Discard the packing.

If it is necessary, remove seal seat as follows:
(a)
Remove the sleeve spacer and the gearshaft packing. 1) Discard the packing.
(b)
Remove the seal seat.
(c)
Replace the seal seat if you find damage on it.

(11) Install a cover on the gearshaft housing of the EEC alternator.
