Do a check of the clearance between the face seal and the deoiler drive housing.

Make sure that the clearances are in the limits as shown in the table that follow.

F. Install the Deoiler Drive Oil Seal

Remove the cap from the ejector port.

Put a new packing, lubricated with engine oil, in the groove of the deoiler seal.

Lubricate the mating (carbon) surface of the face seal with engine oil.

Install the deoiler seal into the deoiler ejector port so it will be against the end of the gearshaft.

Install the retaining ring into the groove in the ejector port to hold the deoiler seal.

Install the deoiler outlet tube as follows:
(a)
Remove the caps from the deoiler outlet tube.
(b)
Install a new packing, lubricated with engine oil, into the groove at the front of the tube.
(c)
Align the bolt holes while you install the tube to the gearbox and put the two brackets over the flange of the tube. 1) Install three bolts that have threads lubricated with
antigalling compound. 2) Tighten the bolts with your hands.
(d)
Attach the deoiler outlet tube to the Flange M and Flange N brackets with clamps, bolts, threads lubricated with engine oil, and nuts. 1) Tighten the bolts to 36-40 pound-inches
(4.1-4.5 newton-meters).

Tighten the three bolts that attach the deoiler outlet tube to the gearbox to 62-72 pound-inches (7.0-8.1 newton-meters).
(f)
Tighten the clamp bolt that attaches the tube for the main oil filter to the bracket attached to the front flange of the deoiler outlet tube to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).
