Install the oil seal into the starter drive pad, over the end of the starter drive coupling so it will be against the face of the gearshaft.

INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR (IDG) DRIVE OIL SEAL - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The procedure that follows give the steps for the removal and the installation of the integrated drive generator (IDG) drive oil seal. In this procedure, the IDG drive oil seal will be referred to as the IDG oil seal.
B. The IDG oil seal is installed in the space in the IDG drive pad on the main gearbox aft face at the 6:30 o'clock position.
C. You can open the thrust reverser halves and remove the IDG to get access to the IDG oil seal.
