 E. Prepare to do the System Test (Fig. 502)

 (1)  AIRPLANES WITHOUT EIS;
 For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers:

 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) C00734 TACH IND ENG 1 N2
 2) C00735 TACH IND ENG 2 N2

 (2)  AIRPLANES WITH EIS;
 For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers:

 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) C01182 EIS PRIMARY 1 (Engine 1)
 2) C01184 EIS PRIMARY 2 (Engine 1)
 3) C01183 EIS PRIMARY 3 (Engine 2)
 4) C01185 EIS PRIMARY 4 (Engine 2)

 (3)  
Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 (4)  
Connect the test equipment.

 (a)  
Disconnect the electrical connector D552 from the N2 speed sensor.

 (b)  
Connect the applicable cable from the test box to the receptacle from the N2 speed sensor.

 (c)  
Connect the function generator to the mating receptacle on the test box.

 (7)  Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
 F. Do the System Test of the N2 Tachometer System
 S 735-068-C00
 (1)  Do a check of the N2 indicating system at 25% N2.
 (a)  
Apply a 3.0 |0.5v ac signal, at 467.5 Hz, with the function generator. 1) Connect a multimeter to the DVM terminals on the test box

 to make sure the signal is the correct voltage.

 (b)  
Make sure the N2 display shows 25 |0.1% N2 and the pointer is at 25 |0.5% N2.

 (2)  Do a check of the over-limit light.
 (a)  
Increase the frequency on the function generator until the red warning light, that shows an over-limit condition, comes on.

 (b)  
Make sure the indicator shows 105.1 |0.1% N2 when the red warning light comes on.

 (c)  
Decrease the frequency on the function generator until the red warning light, that shows an over-limit condition, goes off.

 (d)  
Make sure the indicator shows 0.5 |0.1% N2 less than when the red warning light came on.

 (3)  Do a check of the N2 indicating system with no input.
 (a)  
Disconnect the function generator from the test box.

 (b)  
Make sure the display does not show and the pointer moves to zero.
