 CAUTION: DO NOT BEND OR MAKE A KINK IN THE EGT HARNESSES AND PROBES.
_______ YOU CAN EASILY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EGT HARNESSES AND PROBES.
 (1)  Do these steps to disconnect the harness (Fig. 404):
 (a)  
Remove the bolt and the clamp that attach the harness to the lower extension harness and to the engine bracket.

 (b)  
Remove the two bolts, the two nuts, and the clamp that attach the harnesses together and to the engine bracket.

 (c)  
Remove the two bolts and two nuts that attach the lower junction box to the engine flange.

 (2)  Do these steps to disconnect the connector:
 (a)  Disconnect the connector (on the lower extension harness) from the lower junction box with the fork wrench.

(b)  Put protective caps on the connector and the receptacle.

 (3)  Do these steps to remove the probes:
 (a)  
Remove the two bolts that attach each probe to the engine boss.

 (b)  
ENGINES WITH EGT AIR DEFLECTORS; Remove the EGT air deflector from each probe.

 (c)  
Carefully remove the probes from the engine.

 (d)  
Put protective caps on the probes and the engine bosses.
