 WARNING:_______YOU MUST DO A DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN MOVE AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser
 (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the left fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU OPEN THE
_______ THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (5)  Open the left thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
 E. Remove the Forward EGT Extension Cable

 CAUTION: DO NOT BEND OR MAKE A KINK IN THE EGT HARNESSES AND PROBES.
_______ YOU CAN EASILY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EGT HARNESSES AND PROBES.
 (1)  Do these steps to disconnect the clamps (Fig. 401):
 (a)  Remove the bolt, the nut, and the loop clamp that attach the extension cable to the engine brackets at three locations.

 (2)  Do these steps to disconnect the connector or terminals:
 (a)  
Disconnect the connector (on the forward extension cable) from the main junction box with the fork wrench.

 (b)  
ENGINES WITH INTERFACE CONNECTOR; Disconnect the connector: 1) Disconnect the connector from the airplane wires. 2) Remove the four screws and the two shims that attach the

 connector to the bracket.

 (c)  
ENGINES WITH INTERFACE TERMINALS; Remove the two nuts and disconnect the two interface terminals.

 (d)  
Put protective caps on the connectors and the receptacles.
