24) Replace the lower LH harness segment for these conditions: a) The final resistance value is not between 0.38 and
0.52 ohms. b) The insulation resistance is less than 10M ohms.

(5) Do the leads resistance and insulation check for the 9 Probe System.
(a) Forward extension lead resistance check. 1) Loosen the connector on the forward extension lead. a) Carefully pull back the connector from the receptacle on the main junction box. 2) Connect the test lead, 856A3318, to the forward extension
ú lead and the ohmmeter. 3) Short circuit the wires of the test lead, 856A3318. 4) Measure the resistance value LF1.
a) Make a record of LF1. 5) Calculate the final resistance value: a) Subtract the resistance value of the 856A3318 and the ú 10SL-3S lead adapters from LF1. 6) Disconnect the test lead, 856A3318, from the forward extension lead.
(b) Forward extension lead insulation check. ú 1) Connect the 10SL-3S test lead to the megohmmeter and the ú forward extension lead.
2) Measure and record the insulation resistance between pins A and B together, pin A and the case and pin B and the case.
3) Replace the forward extension lead for these conditions: a) The final resistance is not between 1.16 and 1.64 ohms. b) The insulation resistance is not greater 10M ohms.
(c) Do the right harness extension lead resistance check.
1) Loosen and pull back the two right harness extension lead connectors. a) Connect a test lead, 856A3318, to each RH extension
harness lead connector.
ú 2) Connect one test lead, 856A3318, to the ohmmeter. 3) Short circuit the wires of the test lead, 856A3318. 4) Measure the resistance value EL1.
a) Make a record of EL1. 5) Calculate the final resistance: a) Subtract the resistance value of the two adapter leads 856A3318 from EL1. 6) Disconnect the shorted adapter lead, 856A3318.
(d) Do the right harness extension lead insulation check. ú 1) With the megohmmeter, measure the insulation resistance ú between the two conductors, and then the two conductors
shorted together and the casing.
2) Replace the right harness extension lead for these conditions: a) The final resistance is not between 2.26 and 3.14 ohms.

b) The insulation resistance is not greater than 10M ohms.
(e) Main junction box resistance check. 1) Connect the test lead, 856A3318, to the upper left harness
segment connector on the main junction box. 2) Short circuit the wires of test lead, 856A3318. 3) Connect the test lead, 856A3317, to the right harness
extension lead receptacle from the main junction box and ú the ohmmeter. 4) Measure the resistance value LM1. a) Make a record of LM1. 5) Calculate the final resistance value: a) Subtract the resistance value of the 856A3317 and the 856A3318 test leads from LM1. 6) The final resistance value must be between 2.29 and 3.19 ohms. 7) Connect the test lead, 856A3318, to the lower left harness
