D. Prepare to Remove the Left EGT Harness and Probes

(1) AIRPLANES WITHOUT EIS; For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center
1) ENG 1 EGT IND
2) ENG 2 EGT IND

WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE FOR THE THRUST REVERSER TO
_______ PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(5) Open the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
E. Remove the Left EGT Harness and Probes

CAUTION: DO NOT BEND OR MAKE A KINK IN THE EGT HARNESSES AND PROBES.
_______ YOU CAN EASILY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EGT HARNESSES AND PROBES.
(1) Do these steps to disconnect the EGT harness (Fig. 402):
(a)
Remove the bolt, the nut, and the loop clamp that attach the left harness to the engine brackets at two locations.
(b)
Remove the bolt and the loop clamp that attach the left harness to the engine brackets at three locations.
(c)
Remove the two bolts and the two nuts that attach the left junction box to the engine flange.
