 E.  Procedure
 S 434-178-C03
 (1) Do these steps to attach the connector or terminals (Fig. 401):
 (a)  
Remove protective caps from the connectors and the receptacles.

 (b)  
Connect the connector to the main junction box. 1) Tighten the connector with the fork wrench to

 170-190 pound-inches (19-21 N.m). 2) Install a lockwire or a safety cable on the connector.

 (c)  
ENGINES WITH INTERFACE CONNECTORS; Connect the interface connector. 1) Install the four screws and the two shims that attach the


 connector to the bracket.
 a) Install the screws from the bottom side of the bracket.
 b) Tighten the screws to 25-30 pound-inches (3-3.5 N.m).
 c) Install a lockwire or a safety cable on the screws.

 2)  Connect the connector to the airplane wires. a) Tighten the connector to 21 pound-inches (2.4 N.m).
 (d)  ENGINES WITH INTERFACE TERMINALS; Attach the two interface terminals with the two nuts.
 NOTE: The Chromel lead attaches to the bottom terminal.
____ Install the terminals of the forward extension cable below the terminals of the airplane wires.
 1) Tighten the bottom nut to 15-20 pound-inches (1.7-2.3 N.m). 2) Tighten the top nut to 25-30 pound-inches (3-3.5 N.m).

 (2)  Do these steps to attach the extension cable:
 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of antiseize compound to the bolts.

 (b)  
Install the loop clamp, the bolt, and the nut that attach the extension cable to the engine brackets and flanges at three locations. 1) Tighten the bolts and the nuts to 50-55 pound-inches


 (5.5-6.5 N.m).
 F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU CLOSE THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  
Close the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Close the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser
 (AMM 78-31-00/201).

AIRPLANES WITHOUT EIS; For the applicable engine, remove DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:


 (a)  P6 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) EGT IND ENG 1
 2) EGT IND ENG 2

 (5)  AIRPLANES WITH EIS; For the applicable engine, remove DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  P6 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) EIS PRI 2
 2) EIS PRI 4
