E. Procedure
S 825-002-B00
(1) Adjust the clearances around the panel or fairing as follows (Fig. 501):
(a) If the clearances are more than the limits, do these steps: 1) Remove the access panel or fairing (Ref 12-30-00/201). 2) Use one or more of the steps that follow to adjust the
aerodynamic smoothness.
a) Decrease its thickness.
b) Remove material from the edge.
c) Add shims or change the contour.
d) If the height of the forward panel is more than 0.015
inch above the structure, remove material from the outer edge.
NOTE: The slope of the new contour must be a minimum
____ of 10 times the height.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE INSIDE OF THE STRUT IS FREE OF ALL
_______ TOOLS AND UNWANTED OBJECTS. IF ALL TOOLS AND UNWANTED OBJECTS ARE NOT REMOVED, BLOCKAGE OF THE DRAIN TUBES CAN OCCUR.
3) Remove all tools and unwanted objects from the inside of the strut.
4) If the clearance between the panels or fairings is more than 0.030 inch, apply sealant to the clearance and make it smooth.
NOTE: This is not applicable to doors and panels that open

and close.
