Do an examination for wear on the strut fitting for the aft engine mount (Fig. 202).

Do an examination of the vibration isolator for the aft engine mount.


 NOTE: The Vendor Component Maintenance Manual has the damage and
____ limits repair information for the vibration isolator and cone bolt.

 (3)  
Do a general penetrant (flourescent dye) inspection of the thread runout area on the cone bolt (OHM 20-20-02).

If you find damage, replace or repair the isolator assembly.

 FORWARD ENGINE MOUNT - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are three tasks in this procedure:
 (1)  
The first task removes the forward engine mount.

 (2)  
The second task installs the forward engine mount.

 (3)  
The third task is an inspection of the forward engine mounts.


 B.  The forward engine mount stays with the strut when you remove the engine. Therefore, you must remove the engine to get access to the engine mount.
 C.  This procedure gives the wear limits for the crossbeam, fitting, and bushing interfaces.
 D.  You can use this procedure for the left or right sides of the engine.

 2.  Forward Engine Mount Removal____________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
This procedure contains two topics:

 (a)  
The first topic removes the crossbeam assembly from the strut.

 (b)  
ON AIRPLANES WITH THE VIBRATION ISOLATORS; the second topic removes the vibration isolators from the crossbeam assembly.

 

 (2)  
ON AIRPLANES WITH THE VIBRATION ISOLATORS; the cone bolt nut, retainers and the bond jumper are removed when the engine is removed.

 (3)  
ON AIRPLANES WITH THE VIBRATION ISOLATORS; there are two vibration isolators on the crossbeam for each engine. You can use this procedure to remove the isolators on the forward engine mount.
