(1)
Remove the fairing at the outboard forward end of the aft strut fairing (Fig. 601).

(2)
Remove the blockage as follows:
(a)
Put a rag above the drain line inlet to collect the contamination.
(b)
Put the plugs on the two ends of the drain tube (at the heat shield assembly drain inlet and midspar closeout web drain inlet).
(c)
Apply the 25-35 psig air pressure through the drain line exit.

Make sure the air flows freely from the strut midspar drain inlet.
(e)
Remove the rag and contamination from the drain line inlet.
(f)
Remove the plug from the heat shield assembly drain inlet.
(g)
Remove the plug from the midspar closeout web drain inlet.
(h)
Make sure all areas are clean and dry.

(3) Install the fairing at the outboard forward end of the aft strut fairing.

NACELLE STRUT DRAIN TUBE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure:
(1)
The first task is the removal of the nacelle strut (teflon) drain tube
(2)
The second task is the installation of the nacelle strut (teflon) drain tube.
B. The access to the nacelle strut drain tube is through the aft strut fairing access panel and the small access plate near the midspar fitting.
C. To install the nacelle strut drain tube, apply the heat to the two ends of the tube before they are attaches to the mating fitting.

(1)
Remove the aft strut fairing access panel (Fig. 401).

(2)
Remove the small access plate near the midspar fitting.

(3)
Disconnect the aft end of the strut drain tube (at the elbow) as follows:
(a)
Loose the clamp at the elbow end of the strut drain tube.
(b)
Disconnect the strut drain tube from the elbow.
