Make sure the bearing assembly has been removed from the cross beam.

Apply a thin layer of grease to the exterior of the retaining ring.
NOTE: Do not apply grease to the threads on the ring.

(3) Apply a thin layer of grease to the exterior of the race.
NOTE: Do not apply grease to the threads on the race.

Put the race into the hinge from the aft side.
(5)
Hold the race in place with the socket wrench.

NOTE: Keep the slot in the vertical position.

(6) Put the retaining ring into the hinge lug from the forward side.

Use the socket wrench to tighten the retaining ring to 120-140 pound-inches.

Remove any excess grease from the surface of the race and cross beam.

If you will not immediately install the thrust reverser half do these steps:
(a)
Put the ball in the race.
(b)
Safety the ball to the cross beam with a piece of rope.

(11) Do this task: Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE OR PRESS THE CENTER OF THE ISOLATOR.

TOO MUCH FORCE WILL DAMAGE THE ISOLATOR.
(1) Install the isolator in the bushing.
NOTE: The isolator should go easily in the bushing.

If installed, remove the safety device from the hinge fitting.

If installed, remove the safety strap from the lug of the cross beam.

Remove the ball from the race.

Make sure the cross beam aligns with the hinge clevis and the flat side of the cross beam is down.
