STRUT ATTACH POINT BUSHING MIGRATION - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General
A. This procedure contains the data to do an inspection of the bushings for the nacelle strut fuse pins as follows:
(1)
The lugs on the forward end of the upper link and on both ends of the diagonal brace assemblies,
(2)
the strut to wing fitting lugs of the strut,
(3)
the strut fitting for the diagonal brace.

Do the deactivation procedure for the leading edge slats in the retracted position (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Remove the applicable strut doors, panels and fairings (AMM 54-32-01/401).
(a)
Remove the access panels of the aft fairing to get access to the forward and aft diagonal brace fuse pins (AMM54-32-01/401).
(b)
Remove the wing junction fairing to get access to the midspar fuse pins (AMM 54-32-01/401).
(c)
Remove the forward leading edge fairing to get access to the upper link pins (AMM 54-32-01/401).
(d)
Remove the engine fan-cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/401).

E. Do the Inspection

(1) Look for bushing migration along the outside edge of the bushings at these locations:
NOTE: The definition of a migrated bushing is a bushing that
____ has a cracked fillet seal or a gap of 0.005 inches or more between the lug face and the bushing flange.
(a)
Forward end of the upper link assembly
(b)
The wing fitting (overwing fitting assy - nacelle support).
(c)
Wing fitting (aft end) of the diagonal brace assembly
(d)
The strut fitting at the forward end of the diagonal brace assembly
(e)
The strut midspar fitting lugs (inboard and outboard sides).

If you do not find bushing migration, stop the inspection.
