 1)  Make sure the pin/bolt, end caps, bolt, nut, and washers turn together as an assembly. a) If it is necessary, you can tighten the castelated nut
 on the pin/bolt assembly to a maximum torque of 200 pound-inches (22.6 N.m) until the assembly turns. 2) You can adjust the chain hoists to more accurately find the correct load.
 NOTE: When you remove the load correctly, the pin/bolt
____ (that you will remove) will turn easily.
 G.  Remove the Applicable Pin/Bolt.

 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU USE A BRASS SLUG TO PUSH OUT THE ATTACH PIN. IF YOU DO NOT USE A BRASS SLUG, THE CLEVIS MAY NOT STAY ALIGNED WITH THE LUG. DAMAGE TO THE BUSHINGS OR THE STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE ALL THE UPPER LINK PINS AND MIDSPAR FUSE BOLTS ARE

 INSTALLED. DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR.

 (1)  Remove the forward pin from the diagonal brace (Figure 402,
 Detail F).

 (a)  If you remove the diagonal brace, do these steps:
 1)  Look for markings on the brace that identify the airplane, the strut position, and the center-to-center distance.
 NOTE: If the brace is marked with this data, it is an
____ optional (custom fitted) diagonal brace.
