Do this task: Get Access to the Hinges for the Thrust Reverser.

Remove the ball from the race.

Remove the nut, washer and bolt from each hinge fitting.

Carefully, pull the cross beam out of the strut.
NOTE: Move the cross beam from both ends until it is free on one
____ hinge fitting. Make sure the bushings from the cross beam do not touch the bushings on the hinge.

Examine the cross beam and isolators for damage.

Examine the hinge fittings for damage.

CAUTION:_______USE TWO PEOPLE TO INSTALL THE CROSS BEAM. THE CROSS BEAM CAN BECOME CAUGHT ON THE BUSHINGS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HINGE FITTING.
USE CARE AS YOU SLIDE THE CROSS BEAM THROUGH EACH CLEVIS AND ABOVE THE FORWARD PANEL. MAKE SURE THE CROSS BEAM IS FREE TO MOVE. AS THE CROSS BEAM LUG STARTS INTO THE OPPOSITE CLEVIS, DO A CHECK OF THE ALIGNMENT. THE BUSHINGS ON THE CROSS BEAM CAN BE CAUGHT ON THE BUSHINGS OF THE HINGE FITTING AND CAUSE DAMAGE.

Slide the cross beam through the hinge clevis.

Install the bolt, washer and nut.

13. Bearing Assembly Removal, Center Fitting (Fig. 203)________________________________________
A. General
(1)
The bearing assembly has the bearing ball and the bearing race assembly. The bearing race assembly has a locking element in the threads.
(2)
If the assembly becomes loose, you must replace both parts of the race.
