Make sure corrosion-preventive compound is applied to all of the inner surface of the fuse pin.

 (d)  
Apply a thin layer of grease to the OD of the fuse pin.

 (e)  
Push out the brass slug with the fuse pin.
 1) Make sure the clevis and the lug stay aligned.


 (f)  
Install the two caps, bolt, nut, and two washers: 1) Apply a thin layer of grease to the contact surfaces of the caps, washer, and bolt. 2) Install the bolt so that the bolt head is on the outboard


 side of the strut. 3) Install the two caps, two washers, and nut. 4) Tighten the nut to 150-350 pound-inches (17.1-39.9 N.m). 5) Install the cotter pin.
 a)  If it is necessary, you can loosen the nut a minimum quantity to install the cotter pin.
 6)  Apply sealant approximately 0.10 inch (2.54 mm) thick, to the two ends of the cotter pin, to prevent movement of the cotter pin.

 (5)  Install the forward pin in the diagonal brace (Figure 402, Detail F).
 (a)

 5) Install the cotter pin. a) If it is necessary, you can loosen the nut a minimum quantity to install the cotter pin.
 6)  Apply sealant approximately 0.10 inch (2.54 mm) thick, to the two ends of the cotter pin, to prevent movement of the cotter pin.
 G.  Put the Airplane Back in its Usual Condition (Engine removed).

 CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE THE STRUT SLING UNTIL THE WORKSTANDS ARE CLEAR.
_______ IF YOU DO NOT MOVE THE WORK STANDS, DAMAGE TO THE STRUT, WING STRUCTURE OR STANDS CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  Remove the strut sling:
 (a)  
Make sure the workstands are clear of the airplane.

 (b)  
Slowly remove the load from the sling.

 (c)  
Remove the sling from the strut, and return the sling to storage.

Do the procedure to install the engine (AMM 71-00-02/401).

Do a check that the clearance between the nacelle strut and the wing attach fitting is as shown (Figure 402, Detail B).

 (4)  
Reactivate the electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems:

 (a)  
Make sure the fuel and hydraulic fluid lines to the engine are filled.

 (b)  
Pressurize the hydraulic system (AMM 29-09-00/201).

 (c)  
Open the hydraulic EDP supply shutoff-valve and connect the electrical plug to the valve.

 (d)  
Open the engine fuel shutoff-valve, and connect the electrical plug to the valve.

 (e)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE identifier from the FUEL CONTROL toggle switches, found on the engine start module.

 (f)  
Remove the electrical ground wire.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE INSIDE OF THE STRUT IS FREE OF ALL TOOLS AND
_______ UNWANTED OBJECTS. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE ALL TOOLS AND UNWANTED OBJECTS, BLOCKAGE OF THE DRAIN TUBES CAN OCCUR.
 (5)  Make sure that all tools and loose material are removed, and the strut cavities are free of unwanted material before you install the access doors.
