(1)
If it is necessary, open the pressure relief door of the forward fairing (AMM 54-31-01/401).

(2)
Remove the screws, nuts, and washers at 4 locations that attach the latch to the pressure relief door.
S 022-013-B00
(3)
Remove the latch from the pressure relief door.

4. Install the Latch for the Pressure Relief Door

B. Procedure
S 422-015-B00
(1) Do these steps to install the latch for the pressure relief door (Fig. 201):
(a)
Put the latch below the pressure relief door.
(b)
Align the latch holes with the door holes and the latch handle with the door cutout.
(c)
Install the screws, the washers, and the nuts (4 locations) to attach the latch to the pressure relief door.

(2) Do a check that the latch is smooth with the outside surface.
(a)
The maximum distance permitted is |0.03 inch (|0.76 mm).
(b)
If the latch is not in the limits, replace the latch.

(3)
Make sure the distance between the latch handle and the door cutout is 0.03-0.06 inch (0.76-1.5 mm).

(4)
If the distance is not in the limits, remove material from the edge of the door as necessary to get the correct distance.

Make sure the latch does not have free play.
(a) If the latch has free play, do this task: Latch Free Play Adjustment.
