(2) Install the aft fuse pin in the upper link (Figure 402, Detail D).
(a)
Make sure corrosion-preventive compound is applied to all of the inner surface of the fuse pin.
(b)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the OD of the fuse pin.
(c)
Push out the brass slug with the fuse pin.
1) Make sure the clevis and the lug stay aligned.
(d)
Install the two caps, bolt, nut, and two washers: 1) Apply a thin layer of grease on the contact surfaces of the caps, washers, and bolt. 2) Slide one washer and one end cap on to the bolt and slide
this assembly through the fuse pin. 3) Install the remaining end cap, washer and the nut. 4) Tighten the nut to 150-350 pound inches (17.1-39.9 N.m). 5) Install the cotter pin.
a) If it is necessary, you can loosen the nut a minimum quantity to install the cotter pin.
6) Apply sealant approximately 0.10 inch (2.54 mm) thick, to the two ends of the cotter pin, to prevent movement of the cotter pin.

(3) Install the forward pin in the upper link (Figure 402, Detail E).

(4) Install the aft fuse pin in the diagonal brace (Figure 402, Detail G).
(a) Look for a tag or markings on the brace that identify the airplane, the strut position, and the center-to-center distance.
NOTE: If the brace is tagged or marked with this data, it

If the diagonal brace is an optional (custom fitted) brace, do one of these two steps: 1) Install the same diagonal brace that you removed from the
