NACELLE STRUT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure:
(1)
The first task is the removal of the nacelle strut.
(2)
The second task is the installation of the nacelle strut.
B. To remove and install the nacelle strut, you must do the steps that follow:
(1)
Remove the engine.
(2)
Disconnect the tube from the wing to the strut.
(3)
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
(4)
Install the strut sling.
(5)
Remove the strut from the wing leading edge.
(6)
Lift the strut to the wing.
(7)
Do a check of the clearances.
(8)
Remove the strut sling.
(9)
Connect the elctrical connectors.
(10)
Connect the fuel and hydraulic tubes connectors.
(11)
Install the engine.

D. Remove the Nacelle Strut

(1)
Remove the engine from the strut (AMM 71-00-02/401).
S 014-002-B00
(2)
Remove the engine bootstrap from the strut (AMM 71-00-02/401).
S 014-003-B00
(3)
Remove the access panel on the leading edge.
S 014-004-B00
(4)
Remove the leading edge strakelet (outboard of the strut).

(5)
Remove the strut access door.

(6)
Remove the access panel for the outboard mid fairing.

(7)
Remove (3) fasteners on the strut mid fairing (lower) (Fig. 401).

Remove the (6) fasteners on the strut mid fairing (Fig. 401).

Remove the firewire clip.

Open the slat access panel.

Remove the tube connectors from the wing-to-strut area as follows:
(a)
Put the dry containers below the fuel and hydraulic connectors for the fluid leakage.
(b)
Remove the pneumatic duct.
(c)
Remove the hydraulic tubes.
(d)
Remove the fuel tube.
