 (e)  
Disconnect the fire extinguisher discharge tube.

 (f)  
Install the caps on the open tubes and ducts.

 (12) Disconnect the electrical connectors from the strut.
 (a)  
Remove the wire bundle clamps, if it is necessary.

 (b)  
Install caps on the connectors.

 (13) Disconnect the push pull rods for the thrust lever and the thrust reverser feedback from the strut control drum.
 (a)  Keep the hardware for the installation.

 Disconnect the push pull rod for the fuel shutoff valve from the bellcrank and the bracket on the strut control drum.

 (15)
 Install the strut sling.

 (a)  
Connect the front of the sling to the bootstrap fitting on the top of the strut at STA 194.24 with the disconnect pins.

 (b)  
Connect the aft end of the sling on the two sides of the strut with a bolt in the bootstrap attach point at STA 271.

 (c)  
Attach the cables and the spreader bar to the hoist.

 (16) Disconnect the diagonal brace from the strut and the wing.
 (a)  Remove the diagonal brace.
 NOTE: It is possible that you will have to use 0-3000 pounds
____ up or down load on the strut to remove the pins.

 Disconnect the strut drain connection on the strut aft bulkhead.

 Remove the hardware that attach the cross braces to the strut and the wing.

 (a)  
Make a mark on the strut and the side link assemblies for the installation task (the cross braces will give the position of the strut midspar attach points to the wing attach points).

 (b)  
Remove the hardware and the pins that attach the upper link to the strut and the wing. 1) Remove the upper link from the strut.

 (c)  
Remove the hardware and the shear bolts that attach the strut midspar fittings to the wing fitting.

 


 NOTE: You must move the forward end of the nacelle strut up

 or down to remove the shear bolts.

_______ STRUCTURE TO THE AFT STRUT FAIRING. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE HARDWARE, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE.

 Remove the strut from the wing leading edge.
