_______ ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATH THE FUMES FROM MEK. PUT ON A SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE MEK. KEEP MEK AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. MEK IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Use a clean cloth and methyl ethyl ketone to clean the strut and the wing attach points.

(2)
Apply a layer of the corrosion prevention compound (MIL-C-11796) to these parts:
(a)
The threads of the bolts and the fuse bolts.
(b)
The length of the pin.

(3) Apply the grease (MIL-G-23827 or MIL-G-21164) to these parts:
(a)
The outside diameter of the bolts and the pins.
(b)
The end caps.

(4) To install the nacelle strut (Fig. 401), you must do the steps that follow:
CAUTION: DO NOT MOVE THE STRUT TO THE WING AT TOO LOW OF A HEIGHT.
_______ DAMAGE COULD OCCUR TO THE STRUT OR THE LEADING EDGE OF THE WING.
(a)
Lift the strut to the wing leading edge and align the mid spar attach fittings.
(b)
Put the fuse bolts in the fittings with the heads outboard.
(c)
Put the upper link in its position and loosely connect it to the wing attach point. 1) Use a fuse pin, end caps, washers, a bolt and a nut.
(d)
Loosely connect the upper link with the fitting on the strut upper spar. 1) Use end caps, a bolt, washer, pin, and nut.
(e)
Install the side link assemblies with the bolts, washers and nuts.
(f)
Install the countersunk washer below the bolt head.
