 D. Procedure
 S 862-026
 (1)  Set the switch and the circuit breaker:
 (a)  
Set the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (b)  
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (2)  Open the APU cowl door:
 (a)  
Open the latches for the APU cowl door.

 (b)  
Open the APU cowl door.

 (c)  
Connect the door support rods.


 S 012-028
 CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
 (3)  Remove the lower shroud:
 (a)  
Hold the lower shroud and open the shroud latches.

 (b)  
Remove the lower shroud.


 S 792-169
 (4)  Make sure there is no leakage in the pressure line for the control air:
 (a)  
Disconnect the pressure line for the control air from the orificed tee of the compressor discharge.

 (b)  
Remove the orificed tee.


 NOTE: Keep the orificed tee for the installation.

 (c)  
Connect the tee fitting to the pressure line for the control air.

 (d)  
Connect the pressure gage, air supply line and shutoff valve to the tee fitting.

 (e)  
Connect the air source to the air supply line.

 (f)  
Open the shutoff valve.

 (g)  
Apply 40 psig (276 kPa) to the pressure line for the control air.

 (h)  
Close the shutoff valve.

 (i)  
Monitor the pressure gage for 5 minutes.


 NOTE: The pressure must not decrease more than 3 psig

 (21 kPa) for each minute.

(j)  
If the pressure decreased more than 3 psig (21 kPa) for each minute, repair the leakage in the pressure line for the control air.

 (k)  
Disconnect the air source from the air supply line.

 (l)  
Disconnect the pressure gage, air supply line and shutoff valve from the tee fitting.

 (m)  
Disconnect the tee fitting from the pressure line for the control air.

 (n)  
Connect the orificed tee of the compressor discharge to the pressure line for the control air.


 S 412-029
 CAUTION: KEEP A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 0.18 INCHES (5 MM) BETWEEN THE
_______ ENGINE, FIRE DETECTOR, CLAMPS AND LOWER SHROUD.
 BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD.  DAMAGE TO THE
 SHROUD DRAINS CAN OCCUR.
 (5)  Install the lower shroud: (a) Hold the lower shroud against the upper shroud. (b) Close the shroud latches.

 (6)  Close the APU cowl door: (a) Disconnect the door support rods. (b) Put the door support rods in the clips on the APU cowl door. (c) Close the APU cowl door. (d) Close the latches for the APU cowl door.
