10. APU System Deactivation (The APU Removed)

A. General
(1)
This procedure gives the steps to prepare the airplane for flight without the APU installed.
(2)
To prepare the airplane for flight without the APU installed, you must remove the APU and install protective caps, covers and plugs in the upper shroud and exhaust muffler. Also, you must deactivate the air inlet door, APU fuel valve, APU master switch, and open the applicable circuit breakers.
B. Special Tools and Equipment

G57NB-5 Collar - Circuit Breaker, Nylon Molding Corp., 1617 S. California, Monrovia, CA 91016 (two are necessary)

C49001-1 Tool Kit - APU Deletion. This kit contains these parts:

1 muffler plug assembly

1 dummy plug assembly
(c)
1 door lock assembly

Remove the APU power plant (AMM 49-11-00/401).

Do the deactivation for the APU fuel valve (Fig. 203):
NOTE: The APU fuel valve is found in the left main wheel well.

(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector, D920, for the APU fuel valve.
(b)
FOR THE C49001-1 TOOL KIT; Install the cap assembly to the electrical connector and electrical receptacle for the APU fuel valve.
(c)
FOR THE F80136-33 TOOL KIT; Do these steps: 1) Install a cap on the electrical connector for the APU fuel
valve. 2) Tie the electrical harness with the cap chain to the airplane structure with the braid. 3) Install a cap on the electrical receptacle of the APU fuel valve.
