Remove the nut, washer and bolt that attach the ring mount strut (vertical) to the ring mount for the right aft mount.
(e)
Remove the nut, washer and bolt that attach the ring mount strut (axial) to the ring mount for the right aft mount.
(f)
Remove the nut, washer and bolt that attach the ring mount strut (vertical) to the ring mount for the right forward mount.
(g)
Remove the nut, washer and bolt that attach the ring mount strut (lateral) to the ring mount for the right forward mount.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE UPPER SHROUD FROM THE APU
_______ COMPARTMENT. DAMAGE TO THE UPPER SHROUD CAN OCCUR.
(h) Carefully remove the upper shroud from the APU compartment.

(15) If the upper shroud will be replaced, remove these parts:
(a)
Remove the shutoff valve for the cooling air from the upper shroud (AMM 49-51-21/401).
(b)
Remove the fuel heater from the upper shroud (AMM 49-31-61/401).

(1) If a new upper shroud will be installed, install these parts:
(a)
Install the fuel heater to the new upper shroud (AMM 49-31-61/401).
(b)
Install the shutoff valve for the cooling air to the new upper shroud (AMM 49-51-21/401).

Make sure the bleed air duct is temporarily attached in the APU compartment before you install the upper shroud.

Install the upper shroud in the APU compartment:
NOTE:____The ring mount struts have different lengths. If you removed the ring mounts, the correct ring mount must be installed on each airplane mounting bracket.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE UPPER SHROUD INTO THE APU
_______ COMPARTMENT. DAMAGE TO THE UPPER SHROUD CAN OCCUR.
(a)
Put the upper shroud into the APU compartment: 1) Lift the upper shroud into the APU compartment. 2) Align the opening in the upper shroud for the compressor
inlet air with the compressor air duct. 3) Make sure the inspection port for the inlet screen goes through the lightning hole in the horizontal web.
(b)
Install the ring mount strut (lateral) to the ring mount for the right forward mount with the nut, washer and bolt.
(c)
Install the ring mount strut (vertical) to the ring mount for the right forward mount with the nut, washer and bolt.

Install the ring mount strut (vertical) to the ring mount for the right aft mount with the nut, washer and bolt.
