(2) Open the APU cowl door:
(a)
Open the latches for the APU cowl door.
(b)
Open the APU cowl door.
(c)
Connect the door support rods.

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE
SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
(3)
Remove the lower shroud:
(a)
Hold the lower shroud and open the shroud latches.
(b)
Remove the lower shroud.
(4)
Put the container below the combustor drain.

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE IGNITION COMPONENTS UNTIL YOU DO THESE STEPS.
_______ THESE STEPS WILL RELEASE THE HIGH VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION UNIT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PROCEDURE, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
(5) Do these steps to release the high voltage from the ignition unit:
(a) Make sure 5 minutes have gone by since the last APU start.

Disconnect the igniter lead from the igniter plug.
(c)
Ground the igniter lead to the APU.

NOTE: The ac power is necessary to operate the aft boost pump

(8) Set the circuit breaker and these switches:
(a)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit
(b)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.
(c)
Set the BAT switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the ON position.
(d)
Set the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the ON position.
NOTE: If you must use the fuel boost pumps in the
____ center tank, you must have a maintenance person or observer in the flight compartment to continuously monitor the LOW PRESSSURE lights. Turn the applicable fuel boost pump to the OFF position if the LOW PRESSURE light for the center tank stays on.

(9) Set the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the START position and release it to the ON position.
NOTE:____The APU will motor for approximately 90 seconds. A device
in the APU control unit causes the APU to stop.

Set these switches and the circuit breaker:
(a)
Set the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the OFF position.
(b)
Set the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(c)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

Remove the container with the fuel from below the combustor drain.
