 NOTE: If the adapter cable assembly is used, the test cable
____ assembly must be connected to the adapter cable assembly.
 (g)  Connect the electrical cable or test cable assembly (46) to the electronic speed switch (44) and the electrical connectors (45).
 (h) When you use the tester for the first time, do a check of the EGT loop resistance as follows: 1) Remove the screws that attach the instrument panel to the temperature indication circuit. 2) Lift the panel to get access to the components of the temperature indication circuit. 3) Tag and disconnect the wires from the EGT indicator terminals on the rear of the indicator case. 4) Use the wheatstone bridge or the multimeter to find the total resistance of the circuit between (and external to) the indicator and the thermocouple probe. a) The resistance must be 8.000 |0.035 ohms.
 5)  If the resistance is not in the limits, adjust the variable resistor in the tester to get the correct resistance. 6) Remove the wheatstone bridge or the multimeter.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE WHITE (CHROMEL) WIRE TO THE
_______ "CR" TERMINAL. MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE GREEN (ALUMEL) WIRE TO THE "AL" TERMINAL. THE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE TESTER CAN OCCUR IF YOU DO NOT CORRECTLY CONNECT THE WIRES.
 7) Connect the wires to the temperature indicator terminals. 8) Attach the instrument panel to the tester with the screws.

(i)  
Disconnect the electrical connector (37) from the tachometer generator (36).

 (j)  
Connect the electrical cable or test cable assembly (46) to the tachometer generator (36) and the electrical connector (37).

 (k)  
Connect the electrical cable or test cable assembly (46) to the tester receptacle (13).

 (5)  Do the opening rate test for the bleed air valve (Fig. 505):
 (a)  
Start the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).

 (b)  
Let the engine operation become stable with no load applied.

 1)  With no load applied to the APU, the engine speed must become stable at 102.5% rpm maximum as shown on the tester indicator (15).

 (c)  
Set the APU BLEED switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the ON position.

 (d)  
Set the air conditioning R PACK and L PACK switches to the ON position.

 (e)  
Set the tester load switch (29) to the ON position.

 (f)  
Measure the time between the operation of the tester load switch (29) until the fuel pressure gage (2) shows the first maximum indication. 1) The first maximum indication usually occurs in 12-14

 seconds and shows that the valve is open.

 (g)  
Monitor the engine speed on the indicator (15).

 1)  The engine speed must not decrease more than 3% of the engine rpm.

 (h)  
Monitor the engine speed on the tester indicator (15) with a full load applied to the APU. 1) The engine speed must become stable between 99.3% to 104.3%

 rpm with the load applied.

 (i)  
Monitor the EGT indicator (7) with the load applied.


 NOTE: This temperature must be 1202°F (650°C) or less.
