(5) Make sure these switches on the P5 forward overhead panel are set correctly:
(a)
Set the DC selector switch to the BAT position.
(b)
Set the AC selector switch to the APU GEN position.
(c)
Set the BAT switch to the ON position.
NOTE: The battery voltage must be greater than 22 volts dc.

(d)
Set the APU BLEED switch to the OFF position.
(e)
Momentarily, set one of the two APU GEN switches to the ON position to close the field relay.
(f)
Set the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch to the ON position.
NOTE: The No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch is on the P5 forward
____
overhead panel.
NOTE: If you must use the fuel boost pumps in the
____ center tank, you must have a maintenance person or observer in the flight compartment to continuously monitor the LOW PRESSSURE lights. Turn the applicable fuel boost pump to the OFF position if the LOW PRESSURE light for the center tank stays on.

WARNING:_______ DO NOT OPERATE THE APU WITH THE LOWER SHROUD REMOVED IF PERSONS
ARE IN OR DIRECTLY BELOW THE APU COMPARTMENT. YOU MUST BE A
MINIMUM OF THREE FEET AWAY FROM THE OUTER EDGE OF THE APU
COMPARTMENT OPENING TO OPERATE THE APU WITH THE LOWER SHROUD
REMOVED. AN APU TURBINE WHEEL SEPARATION DURING OPERATION CAN
CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS.
(6) APUs WITHOUT ALLIEDSIGNAL SB GTCP85-49-7096; If you must operate the APU with the lower shroud removed, make sure all persons are not in the hazard area (Fig. 202A).
NOTE: APUs with AlliedSignal SB GTCP85-49-7096 have an external
____ shield around the turbine plenum and have no hazard area.
