CAUTION: DO NOT USE COMPOUNDS THAT PREVENT CORROSION IN THE COMPRESSOR

SECTION. DO NOT CLEAN THE COMPRESSOR OR COMPRESSOR INLET WITH
CHEMICALS THAT CAN CAUSE CORROSION. COMPOUNDS THAT PREVENT
CORROSION AND CORROSIVE CHEMICALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU.
(1) Operate the APU:
(a)
Do the steps as specified in the APU Start and Operation.
(b)
Permit the APU to operate with no load for a minimum of 5 minutes.
(c)
Do the steps as specified in the APU Usual Shutdown.

(2) Set the switch and the circuit breakers:
(a)
Move the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(b)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

(3) Open the APU cowl door:
(a)
Open the latches for the APU cowl door.
(b)
Connect the door support rods.

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE
SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
(4) Remove the lower shroud:
(a)
Hold the lower shroud and open the shroud latches.
(b)
Remove the lower shroud.

(5) Drain the APU fuel system:
(a)
Put the container below the APU.
(b)
Disconnect the fuel hose from the elbow on the fuel control unit. 1) Let the fuel drain into the container.

2) Put a cap on the fuel hose.
(c)
Disconnect the electrical harness from the ignition unit.
(d)
Disconnect the high pressure fuel line from the fuel solenoid valve. 1) Let the fuel drain into the container.
(e)
Connect a 1/4 inch diameter hose to the conection for the fuel solenoid valve. 1) Put the other end of the 1/4 inch hose into a container.
(f)
Connect a 3/8 inch diameter hose to the fuel inlet port.
1) Supply lubrication oil to the other end of the 3/8 inch hose.
(g)
Make sure the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch on the P5 forward overhead panel is in the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(h)
Make sure the DC selector switch is in the BAT position.
(i)
Turn the BAT switch to the ON position.
(j)
Turn the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the ON position. 1) When you see oil come out of the 1/4 inch hose, move the
APU master switch to the OFF position.
(k)
Remove the 1/4 inch hose from the fuel solenoid valve
connection.
(l)
Connect the high pressure fuel line.
(m)
Disconnect the 3/8 inch diameter hose from the fuel inlet port.
(n)
Put a cap on the fuel inlet port.
(o)
Remove the fuel filter.
1) Discard the fuel filter.

(6) Drain the oil from the engine:
(a)
Remove the drain plug from the oil tank.
(b)
Remove the oil filter.
1) Discard the filter.
(c)
Install the oil filter.
(d)
Connect the wire harness to the ignition unit.

(7) Put caps, plugs, or seals on these ports and fittings:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TAPE TO COVER THE FUEL SYSTEM PORTS OR
_______ CONNECTIONS. TAPE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
