(3)
Engine-driven pump (EDP) dispatch equipment removal.
(a)
This task removes the device which seals the gear shaft and the cover on the opening in the EDP pad. This task then installs an EDP which will operate.
(4)
Deactivated engine-driven pump (EDP) removal.
(a)
This task removes a deactivated EDP and the device which seals the gear shaft. This task then installs an EDP which will operate.
B.
Operation of an engine-driven hydraulic pump with restricted fluid supply can result in severe damage to the pump and associated hydraulic pressure lines in the engine strut. If the hydraulic pump operates more than 5 minutes when the shutoff valve is advertently closed, the pump can be damaged. If the pump is damaged, replace the pump (AMM 29-11-05/401).
C.
The hydraulic pump is on the engine gearbox. You can get access to the pump through the right thrust reverser half.
