Drain the bottle and let it dry in the air in a laminar flowbench of a clean room.
NOTE: If a laminar flow bench is not available, the bottle
____ can be turned with the bottom up and put in a clean dry room. All persons must stay away from the room until the bottle is dry and sealed with a cap.
(g)
When the bottle is dry, install the screw cap.
(h)
Put the bottle in a new polyethylene bag.
(i)
Seal the bag with a knot or some tape.
(j)
Identify the bag.

Get a hydraulic fluid sample (Fig. 601):
(a)
Put the container below the hydraulic sample valve.

CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY CLEAN ALL THE HYDRAULIC FLUID THAT FALLS ON
_______ THE AIRPLANE PARTS. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PAINT AND CORROSION TO SOME PARTS.
(b)
Open the sample valve sufficiently to permit a smooth flow of fluid with no bubbles or spray.
(c)
Drain a minimum of 1 pint of fluid through the valve before you get a sample.
(d)
Remove the cap from the polyethylene bottle.
(e)
Put the bottle in the fluid flow.
1) Do not let the bottle touch the sample valve.
(f)
When the bottle is almost full, remove it from the flow.
NOTE: This will make sure that unwanted materials do not
____ loosen and cause a change in the sample when you close the valve.
(g)
Put the cap on the bottle.
(h)
Remove the cap from the glass bottle.
(i)
Put the bottle in the fluid flow.
1) Do not let the bottle touch the sample valve.
(j)
When the bottle is almost full, remove it from the flow.
NOTE: This will make sure that unwanted materials do not
____ loosen and cause a change in the sample when you close the valve.
(k)
Put the cap on the bottle.
(l)
Close the sample valve.
1) Install a lockwire on the sample valve.
(m)
Identify the sample bottles with a label as follows:
1) The airplane model
2) The airplane number
3) The hydraulic system number
4) The date
5) The fluid location.
