WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT
_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVES. THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES CAN MOVE WHEN YOU OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVES FOR THE FLIGHT CONTROLS. A MOVEMENT OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Put the eight FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF valve switches on the P461 overhead panel in the ON position.

Do the operational test of the EDP:
(a)
Put the HYD PUMP DEMAND switch, for the applicable system, in the OFF position.
NOTE: The switch is on the P5 panel.

(b)
Put the HYD PUMP ENGINE switch, for the applicable system, in the ON position. 1) Make sure the ENGINE PRESS and SYS FAULT lights, for the
applicable system, are on.
(c)
Start the applicable engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).
(d)
Increase the engine speed to ground idle. 1) Make sure the applicable system pressure on the EICAS STATUS display becomes stable between 2800-3200 psig.
2) Make sure the applicable system ENGINE PRESS and SYS FAULT lights go off.
(e)
Put the HYD PUMP ENGINE switch, for the applicable system, in the OFF position. 1) Make sure the applicable system pressure on the EICAS
STATUS display decreases to less than 160 psig.
NOTE: You can operate the rudder to decrease the

pressure faster.
2) Make sure the applicable system ENGINE PRESS and SYS FAULT lights are on.
(f)
Push the HYD switch on the EICAS select panel on the pilots glare shield. 1) Make sure the HYD synoptic shows the applicable EDP is not
in operation.
(g)
Put the applicable system HYD PUMP ENGINE switch in the ON position. 1) Make sure the applicable system pressure on the EICAS
