NOTE: The fuel weight values given below are found on a
____ specified fuel density of 6.7 pounds for a gallon (0.802 Kg for a liter).

For system No. 1, there must be 2000 pounds (900 KG) of fuel in the No. 1 main tank.
(b)
For system No. 2, there must be 5400 pounds (2450 KG) of fuel in the No. 2 main tank.
(c)
For system No. 3, there must be 5400 pounds (2450 KG) of fuel in the No. 3 main tank.

(d) For system No. 4, there must be 2000 pounds (900 KG) of fuel in the No. 4 main tank.
(5) S 862-039Push the HYD switch on the EICAS display select panel. (a) Make sure the synoptic display shows the shutoff valve for the hydraulic supply of the applicable system is open. (b) If it is necessary, push the applicable fire handle to open the shutoff valve for the hydraulic supply.
(6) S 862-040Pressurize the pneumatic system with a ground air source or the APU (AMM 36-00-00/201).
(7) S 862-041Push the HYD switch on the EICAS display select panel.
(8) S 862-042Make sure the applicable HYD PUMPS ENGINE switch on the P5 panel is in the ON position.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL THE
_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THE AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THE THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE PUMPS IN A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IF THE SYSTEM IS
_______ TOO HOT. DAMAGE TO THE PUMPS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: THE HEAT EXCHANGERS IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM USE FUEL TO REMOVE
_______ HEAT FROM THE HYDRAULIC FLUID. DO NOT OPERATE A HYDRAULIC PUMP FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES IF THERE IS NOT SUFFICIENT FUEL FOR THE OPERATION. DAMAGE TO THE PUMP CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOR 20 MINUTES AFTER A SYSTEM
_______ BECOMES TOO HOT. OPEN THE FAIRING DOORS ON THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE STRUT IF THE AIR TEMPERATURE IS MORE THAN 100°F (37°C). DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM CAN OCCUR IF YOU DO NOT LET IT BECOME COOL.

Start the engine to operate the EDP (AMM 71-00-00/201).
