(1)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(2)
Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Extend the flaps fully (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put the access platform below the applicable wing trailing edge at outboard flap inboard rib, zone 587(687).

(1)
Remove the flap kink-seals (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
(Ref. Fig. 603/TASK 57-53-00-991-003)
(2)
Remove and discard the cover from the applicable inspection hole.
(3)
Make sure that the inspection holes are clear of unwanted material.

-MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection of the internal and external surface of the outboard flap at the inboard-rib forward-section (Ref. NTM 57-53-07 PART 9).
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 575300) for the
____ correct repair procedure. If the defect is not included in this repair, you must request a procedure from Airbus Industrie.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Use BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-061A) cut to the correct dimension, to make new covers for the inspection holes.
(2)
Install the new cover on the applicable inspection hole.
(3)
Install the flap kink-seals (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-400-006).

Remove the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER from the flap/slat control lever.

D. Removal of Equipment
(1)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(2)
Remove the access platform(s).
(3)
Remove the safety barriers.
(4)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
