CAUTION : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING_______ EDGE: - DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS. - DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS. - MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Installation.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Flap Attachment Bearing
(1)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the external surface of the new spherical bearing (7).
(2)
Make sure that the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (7).
(3)
Install spherical bearing (7) in the flap structure (8).
(4)
Apply LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-008) to the thread of the locknut
(1) and the mating surfaces of the locknut (1) and the lockwasher (2).
(5)
Loosely install the lockwasher (2) and the locknut (1).
(6)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-002) to the mating face of the locking device (4).
(7)
Put the locking device (4) in position on the spherical bearing (7). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (7) so that the locking device (4) engages correctly.
(8)
Install the washers (5) on the bolts (6).
(9)
Install the bolts (6), the washers (3) and the nuts (9).
(10)
TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.35 and 0.40 m.daN (30.97 and 35.39 lbf.in).
(11)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-002) to the parts that follow:
-
the bolts (6)
-
the washers (3) and (5)
-
the nuts (9).
(12)
Use the WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE TRACK 2 (98D27507541000) to torque the locknut (1) to between 8.0 and 10.0 m.daN (58.99 and
73.74 lbf.ft).
(13)
Safety the locknut (1) with the lockwasher (2).
