Remove the support channel (5) from inside the seal (3).
(d)
Discard the seal (3).
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
R (3) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING R AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the component interface and/or R the adjacent area.
(4) Get a new seal for the applicable panel:

Put the support channel (5) in position inside the new seal (3). Make sure that the holes in the support channel (5) are in-line with the smaller attachment holes in the seal (3).
(6)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to the shank and under the heads of the bolts (4).
(7)
Install the bolts (4) through the larger access holes in the seal (3) and through the support channel (5), the attachment holes in the seal
(3) and the panel (6).
(8)
Install the washers (2) and the nuts (1).

(9) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 0.34 and 0.40 m.daN (30.08 and 35.39 lbf.in).
NOTE : To prevent distortion of the seal (3), do not tighten the nuts

R B. Replacement of the Seal on the Access Panels Outboard of STA11664/RIB 22 (Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 57-51-37-991-002)
R (1) To remove the seal (19), do the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the bolts (17).
(b)
Remove the support channel (16) from the seal (19) and remove the seal from the access panel (18).
(c)
Discard the seal (19).
(2)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed components are clean and in the correct condition.
(3)
Use MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Get a new seal for the applicable panel:

R R (7) Install the bolts (17) through the access panel (18) and the seal (19) into the anchor nuts on the support channel (16). Do not tighten the bolts (17).
R R R (8) Make sure that the width of the seal (19) (dimension X) is 18 mm (0.7086 in.) + 0.0 mm (0.0000 in.) - 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) along the length of the access panel (18).
R (9) TORQUE tighten the bolts (17) to between 0.11 and 0.13 m.daN (9.73 and 11.50 lbf.in).
NOTE : To prevent distortion of the seal (19), do not tighten the____ bolts (17) more than the specified torque value.
