(1) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Fully extend the flaps (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put the access platform in position below the applicable wing at the inboard flap, zone 581(681).

DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.

DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
-MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the:
-end rib
-roller
-interconnecting strut attachment bracket.

B. Inspection
(1) Examine the end rib and the interconnection strut attachment bracket on the inboard flap. Make sure that:
-
there is no damage
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the protective finish is in the correct condition.

(2) Examine the roller to make sure that:
-
there is no corrosion
-
there are no cracks
-
the roller is correctly attached
-
the roller is symmetrical
-there is no distortion of the roller or the attachment pivot bolt
-the protective finish of the roller is correct
-there is not too much play of the roller.
(Ref. Fig. 604/TASK 57-52-00-991-004)
NOTE : If the AXIAL PLAY "X" or the RADIAL PLAY "Y" is more than 0.25
____ mm (0.0098 in.), do a check of the liner for damage and wear.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 575100) for the

correct repair procedure.
