Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS ARE
_______ CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Put the access platform in position below the applicable wing trailing edge at flap tracks 3 and 4, zones 532 (632) and 533 (633).

INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean: - the rollers (1), (2) and (5) of the flap carriage assembly (4) - the component interface and the adjacent area.

B. Inspection
(1) Examine the rollers (1), (2) and (5), for the flap carriage assembly (4). Make sure that: - there is no corrosion - there are no cracks - the rollers are correctly attached - the rollers are symmetrical

A. Lubrication
(1) Use COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-024) to lubricate the flap-track rollers through the greasers until the new grease comes out.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 6CV, 8CV.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
