E. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) In the engine pylon, on the engine fire extinguisher bottle, disconnect the electrical connectors from the cartridges:
-
for the engine 1: 5WE1-A (bottle 1) and 7WE1-A (bottle 2)
-
for the engine 2: 5WE2-A (bottle 1) and 7WE2-A (bottle 2).
(2) Put a PLUG SHUNT (53100141-1) on the cartridges.

F. On the disconnected connectors, on the wiring side:
-connect the pin 1 to an aircraft grounding point.
-connect the pin 2 to an aircraft grounding point.

G. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1WE1, 2WE1, 1WE2, 2WE2

A. Do this Test
CAUTION : MAKE SURE YOU WILL NOT CAUSE UNWANTED CHANGES TO OTHER SYSTEMS
_______ BEFORE YOU PUSH THE ENG1(2) FIRE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH. WHEN YOU PUSH THE ENG1(2) FIRE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH:
-THESE VALVES CLOSE . THE LP FUEL VALVE . THE HYDRAULIC FIRE VALVE . THE BLEED AIR VALVES . THE ANTI-ICE VALVES . THE AIR CONDITIONING PACK VALVES
-THE GENERATOR STOPS.

1. On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD: On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD:
-push the ENG 1(2) TEST - make sure that the defective SQUIB
pushbutton switch. legend of the AGENT 1(2) pushbutton switch does not come on (the non defective SQUIB legend comes on)
-the SQUIB legend(s) go off.
-release the ENG 1(2) TEST
pushbutton switch.
NOTE : If the defective SQUIB legend comes on:
____
-replace the cartridge (Ref. TASK 26-21-41-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 26-21-41-400-001)
-disconnect the pins 1 and 2 from the aircraft grounding points
-remove the shunt devices from the cartridges
-connect the connectors 5WE1-A (5WE2-A) and 7WE2-A (7WE2-A) to their cartridges
-make sure that the connectors are correctly connected
-do an operational test of the engine fire and overheat detection (Loop/Squib) (Ref. TASK 26-12-00-710-001)
NOTE : If the defective SQUIB legend stays off:
____ -the fire test system is defective.
-do the test that follows to make sure that the firing system operates correctly.

2. In the engine pylon: In the engine pylon:
Connect a voltmeter between: - the voltmeter must read OVDC.
- the pin 1 and the grounding
point
- the pin 2 and the grounding
point.
On the ENG/APU FIRE pnnel 1WD: - ignore the SQUIB legends.
- open the guard of the ENG 1(2)
FIRE pushbutton switch.
- push then release the ENG 1(2)
FIRE pushbutton switch.
- push and hold the related AGENT In the engine pylon, make sure that the
1(2) pushbutton switch. voltmeter reads 28VDC:
- between pin 1 and the grounding
point, and
- between pin 2 and the grounding
point.
- Release the AGENT 1(2) In the engine pylon, make sure that the
pushbutton switch. voltmeter reads OVDC:
- between pin 1 and the grounding
point, and
- between pin 2 and the grounding
point.
- Push the ENG 1(2) FIRE
pushbutton switch.
NOTE : If the test is OK :____
-the firing system is OK, the fire test system is defective, the aircraft can continue in service
-disconnect the voltmeter
-remove the shunt plugs from the cartridges
-connect the connectors 5WE1-A (5WE2-A) and 7WE1-A (7WE2-A) to their cartridges
-make sure that the connectors are correctly connected
- on the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD, close the guard of the ENG 1(2) FIRE pushbutton switch.
-do an operational test of the engine fire and overheat detection (Loop/Squib) (Ref. TASK 26-12-00-710-001)

-do an operational test of the hydraulic fire shut-off valves (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-710-001).
