LAVATORY FIRE EXTINGUISHING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
_______________________________________________________
1. General
_______ The lavatory fire-extinguishing system is installed in each lavatory service cabinet. The lavatory fire-extinguishing system discharges its extinguishant automatically when heat activates it. Any fire in the waste is kept within the confines of the metal waste-paper bin. An inert gas floods the lavatory service cabinet and extinguishes the fire. Each lavatory fire-extinguishing system has an extinguisher bottle which is self-actuated.
