becomes the TO waypoint, the manual or calculated wind will be
overridden by the current FMS wind and displayed as normal data.
Winds at downstream waypoints will be automatically recalculated.
All winds must be entered as True, and magnitude in knots. It is not
necessary to enter a wind for each waypoint. If a wind is not entered
for intermediate waypoints, then the FMS will compute an
interpolated wind using manually entered winds at the beginning and
ending waypoints of the sequence. These may be overwritten at any
time.

WEIGHT and FUEL Initialization
The aircraft's zero fuel weight, reserve fuel, and total fuel on board
are entered on FUEL page 1. The zero fuel weight and total fuel on
board are used by the system to compute the aircraft's gross weight.
Zero fuel weight may be entered directly or may be computed by
entering the basic operating, passenger, and cargo weights.
Reserve fuel may be entered directly or may be computed by
entering the fuel required to the alternate, holding fuel, and extra
reserve. Total fuel on board may be entered directly or computed by
entering the individual tank fuel loadings. With dual FMS
installations, fuel data will crossfill from one system to the other.
1. Press the FUEL function key to access FUEL page 1. The
BASIC OP WT and reserves plan values will be prefilled with the
values last used.

2. Use the line select keys to position the cursor over each entry
field and enter the initial aircraft loading data as follows:
a) ZFW - Enter the aircraft's ZFW (Zero Fuel Weight) in pounds
or kilograms. If desired, the ZFW can be computed by using
the line select keys to alternately select the BASIC WT,
PAX, and CARGO entry fields and entering the individual
values.
b) TOTAL RESRVS - Enter the total fuel reserves for the
planned flight in pounds. If desired, the total reserves may
be computed by using the line select keys to alternately
select the ALTERNATE, HOLD, and EXTRA entry fields and
entering the individual values.
c) FUEL ONBOARD - Depending upon the option selected on
the FUEL OPTIONS page, total fuel is entered as a total or
is calculated from the individual tank entries. If the BY
TANK option was selected, a separate page will be
displayed for entering the individual tank values.
FUEL MENU - If a conversion between pounds, kilograms, U.S.
Gal., Imperial Gal., or Liters is required, pressing the MENU key
while on any FUEL page will access the FUEL OPTIONS page.
Entering a known value will cause the other values to be calculated
and displayed. The weight/volume conversion is based upon a fuel
density of 6.7 lb./gal. The method of entering the total fuel on board
is selected on this page using the BY TANK or BY TOTAL line select
keys. If the cross-side FMS has already been initialized with fuel
data, it may be crossfilled into this FMS by pressing XFILL line select
key.

FLIGHT INSTRUMENT INTERFACE
HSI Course Deviation Scaling
The FMS provides both analog and digital deviation information for
display on the flight instruments. Where analog data are utilized (for
example, with electro-mechanical flight instruments), instrument
display sensitivity is determined solely by the FMS. EFIS equipment
may use the digital deviation data, in which the display sensitivities
will be determined by the EFIS computer.
Deviation Display Sensitivity Selection
Crosstrack instrument display sensitivity is selectable by the crew
when desired by using the NAV DISPLAY page. This page is
accessed from the NAV MENU page by selecting NAV DISPLAY.
The active mode will be displayed in small font with the text “IN USE”
next to it. The other two line select key prompts will be displayed in
large font with prompt arrows.
CAUTION: SELECTING ENROUTE OR TERMINAL DURING
APPROACH MODE WILL CANCEL THE
APPROACH MODE.

ENROUTE - Pressing this line select key will create a display
sensitivity of ±5.0 nm. Selecting ENROUTE will cancel the approach
mode if it was active. If APPR ARMED is active when this selection
is made, APPR ARMED will cancel. “IN USE” will appear next to
