Pilot Data Save
The current version of the FMS Pilot-Defined Database can be
written to a disk and will include the Pilot-Defined Waypoints, Align
Points, Airports, Runways, SIDs, STARs, Approaches, and Routes
as well as the reference databases associated with the SIDs,
STARs, Approaches, and Runways. The FMS Flight Plan disk is
loaded through the Data Transfer Unit (DTU). The DTU utilizes a 3
1/2” floppy disk as the input media for loading the data base.
NOTE: Before starting, ensure that the slot is clear of any
previous disks and the protector is removed.
1. Press the ON key on the DTU. A 12 second self test will occur.
2. Press DATA function key for DATA Page 1/4. Press DISK line
select key. The DISK MENU Page will appear.
3. Insert Disk.
4. Press the FORMAT DISK line select key [5L] if required.
Reformatting will be accomplished in approximately one minute.
NOTE: The disk must be formatted before pressing PLT DATA

Pilot Defined Data Base Disk Loading
Pilot Defined Database disk is loaded through the Data Transfer Unit
(DTU) by using the same procedures as loading navigation data
disks. Refer to Loading Data Base Disks, found earlier in this
section. After CONTINUE is pressed the following page will appear.
When pilot defined diskettes from pilot data save on Off Line Flight
Planning are loaded, the pilot data in the FMS will be replaced by
data from the disk of the type contained on the disk.
COMPANY ROUTES DATA
A company routes data base can be created using Universal’s
Offline Flight Planning Program and may be contained on up to four
disks. A total of up to 2000 routes and 250,000 route elements may
be stored. Each route will consist of at least one but not more than
98 legs (route elements). Route elements reference waypoints,
airways and terminal area procedures (SIDs, STARs and
approaches) from the navigation data base by use of reference
pointers. Company routes can be given names of up to eight
characters in length.
A company route data base must be loaded with the same
Navigation data base that was used for its creation.
