SIGMETS Page
The SIGMETS page is accessed by selecting the DISPLAY
SIGMETS option on the REQUEST SIGMETS page. This page
provides a review of all SIGMETs (pertinent to the route defined with
the last update request) which are subsequently canceled or
amended enroute by the Global Data Center via the data link.
SIGMETs may consist of one to 29 pages of text and display their

Winds Aloft
WINDS ALOFT LIST Page
This page is accessed by pressing the WINDS line select key on the
AFIS MENU page. It is used to request winds aloft reports from up
to five locations at a time and for viewing the status of requested
winds aloft reports.
Line select keys [2L, 3L, 4L, 2R, and 3R] are used to access the
WINDS ALOFT pages (which are used to view received winds aloft
reports) or for entry of a new identifier for which a winds aloft report
is desired. When the line select key is first pressed, the cursor is
brought onto that entry field. Pressing the line select key a second
time will access the Winds Aloft page. Alternately, a new identifier
may be entered by typing the identifier and pressing the ENTER key.
Identifiers displayed inside parentheses indicate that data has not
been received. After entry of a new identifier on the Winds Aloft List
page, that identifier will be displayed inside parentheses. The
parentheses will remain until XMIT REQUEST has been selected
and a winds aloft report has been received. (WAITING) will be
displayed above XMIT REQUEST until new winds aloft data is
received.
An identifier displayed without parentheses indicates that a winds
aloft report has been received and may be viewed by pressing the
corresponding line select key twice.
Valid identifiers include VOR, VORTAC, airport, or waypoint
locations.
XMIT REQUEST [5L] - This is used to transmit the request for winds
aloft reports of the identifiers displayed within parentheses, and to
request the latest winds aloft reports available for the other
identifiers.
RETURN [5R] - Returns the display to the AFIS MENU page.

ground-air data link. When uplinked data is shown, the 5,000 and
