INSTRUCTIONS: Replace the Loading section (2421sv600,
2421sv700, 2423sv600 and 2423sv700) or the Loading Data
Base Disks section (2423sv601, 2423sv602, 2423sv701 and
2423sv702) with the following text.

1. Press the DATA key for DATA page 1/4.

2. Press the DISK line select key for the DISK MENU page.

3. Press the ON key on the DTU if it is not already powered up. A
12 second self test will occur.
4. When the self test is complete, insert Standard Disk 1 of 1 into
the DTU.
5. Press the DISK LOAD line select key for the DISK LOAD page.
Note: On multiple FMS installations, when FMSs are
synchronized to this page, the data base will be loaded
into all FMSs.

6. Press the CONTINUE line select key (for multiple FMS
installations, press the CONTINUE line select key on only one
FMS; the others will also respond). The screen below will

7. Press the LOAD line select key. The screen below will appear as
the FMS clears memory for the loading process.
Note: Do not disturb the DTU or the FMS while the update is in
progress.
Note: Should an error that would prevent successful
completion of the load occur, a message will appear on
the DISK LOAD page.
CAUTION: PRESSING THE CANCEL LINE SELECT KEY AT
ANY TIME WILL ABORT THE DATA BASE LOAD.
THIS ACTION WILL ERASE THE NAV DATA
BASE.

After the FMS has cleared memory, it will start loading the new
data base. As each field completes loading, RCVD will appear
next to it. When all data from the Standard Disk is received, the
FMS will test the data for corruption. When testing is complete,
the following screen will appear.

8. Press the LOAD NEXT line select key.
9. Insert the first Extended disk. The FMS will interrogate the disk
and display a screen similar to the one shown below.

Press the LOAD line select key.
Note: The digit shown above as X will be the number of disks
in the Extended disk set. This number will vary from set
to set.
After the data from a disk in the set is loaded, the FMS will
prompt for the loading of the next disk at line select key 5L.
When the data from all the disks in the Extended set is loaded
and tested, a screen similar to the following will appear.
