approach waypoints. The FAF is always in the second position and
the Runway or MAP is always in the fourth position. Under the page
title is the name of the approach. The data presented on this page is
for reference only and cannot be changed on this page.
NOTE: When viewing Approach Definition Page 4, there may be a
slight difference between the FMS displayed coordinates
for the end-of-approach point and the coordinates found
on the approach chart. This is due to the electronic data
base update occurring before a revised chart is available.
These minor variations are considered normal. Minor
variations (if any) do not compromise the approach
accuracies as set forth in AC 20-130. However, it is the
pilot’s responsibility to verify that these variations are
within the accuracies as set forth in AC 20-130.

Change Approach Data
This procedure may be used to change or update a previously
defined approach in the data base, provided the approach is not part
of the flight plan.
NOTE: The APPROACH IN USE message will be activated if an
attempt is made to change an approach that is installed in
the flight plan.
1. Access the Pilot Data Base Menu page by pressing the DATA
function key and the PILOT DATA line select key.
2. Access the PLT APPRS Directory by selecting the
APPROACHES line select key.
3. If the desired airport is not displayed, enter the identifier of the
desired airport. The approaches for the entered airport will be
listed. Use the NEXT and PREV keys to locate the desired
approach if required.
4. Enter the reference number of the desired approach. Then
press the APPR DEF line select key to access the first Approach
Definition page (PLT APPR 1/4). The NEXT key is used to
access PLT APPR 2/4 and PLT APPR 3/4 and PLT APPR 4/4.
5. Use the line select keys as desired to position the cursor on the
field to be changed and enter the new data over the old data.
NOTE: • Changing the runway number will blank all the remaining
approach data.
• Changing the approach type (VFR, VOR, RNV) will
create another approach to the same runway of the new
type without erasing the old approach. The system will
not allow two approaches of the same type to the same
runway at an airport.
Repeat the above procedure as necessary for all fields that are to be
changed.

PILOT RUNWAYS
Pilot Runways Directory
The PLT RNWYS page(s) are accessed from the Pilot Data Base
menu page by selecting the RUNWAY option. When the page is
first accessed, a list of all runways stored in the data base will be
presented alphabetically. The number of PLT RNWYS pages
available depends upon the number of pilot defined runways in the
data base (up to 100 pilot defined runways may be stored). The
PREV and NEXT keys provide access to other PLT RNWYS pages.
AIRPORT - Entering an airport name into this entry field will change
the listing to show only those runways for the entered airport.
Entering the reference number of one of the listed runways into this
field will cause the Runway Creation/Display page (PLT RNWY) with
the associated runway data to be displayed.
CREATE - The CREATE line select key will only be available after
entry of an airport identifier. Pressing the CREATE line select key
will cause the Runway Creation/Display page to be displayed. The
Runway Creation/Display page will have all fields blank except that
the ARPT entry field will be prefilled.
