Runway Creation/Display Page
The PLT RNWY page is accessed from the Pilot Runways Listing
page by entering a runway reference number or by selecting the
CREATE option, or by entering a nonexistent runway on the
Approach Definition page. If the page was accessed by entering a
reference number, the information displayed on the page will be
completed. If the page was accessed by using the CREATE option,
the entry fields will be blank. When making entries on this page, the
cursor automatically advances to the next input field.
ARPT - The airport identifier.
RNWY NUMBER - The runway designation. Typically, there will be a
one or two digit number (1 - 36) which may be followed by the letter
L, C, or R. However, a single letter (A-Z) may be used to designate
an approach that is not associated with a runway.
NOTE: The FMS will not allow user definition of runway numbers
that exist in the Navigation Data Base.
ELEVATION - The elevation displayed or to be input is the runway
threshold elevation or the elevation plus threshold crossing height
(MSL).

ACCEPT/DELETE/IN USE APPR  - When a runway is created or
modified and all fields are valid entries, this field will display
“ACCEPT” for entry of the data into the data base. When an existing
runway is selected for review from the Pilot Runway Directory, this
field will display “DELETE” unless the runway is part of an approach
that is in the data base in which case the field will read “IN USE.”
With “DELETE” displayed, this line select key is used to remove the
defined runway from the data base. When first pressed, a cursor will
cover the “DELETE” command. The line select key must be pressed
a second time for confirmation of this command.
APPR  END  - The coordinates displayed or to be input are the
runway threshold or touchdown point coordinates.
Pilot Defined Airports
Pilot-defined airports may be created for those airports that are not
in the Navigation Data Base. Procedures are similar to creating Pilot
Runways.
Entry of an identifier in the WPT field will cause the DEFINE ARPT
page to be displayed. Identifiers, which exist in the Navigation data
base, will flash and will not be accepted.

Alignment Points
Alignment points can be created for several points on an airport for
the purpose of initializing IRS sensors. These points may be
entered alphanumerically, but only appear on the list function when
LIST key is pressed with the cursor over the initialization waypoint
field on the initialization page.
Entry of an identifier in the WPT field will cause the DEFINE ALIGN
page to be displayed.
REF WPT - The reference waypoint from which a radial and distance
may be used to define the location of the new pilot defined waypoint
is entered here. The identifier will flash if it is not in either the NAV
or the Pilot Defined Data Base. A fix may be entered either
manually or by using the LIST key.

REF Waypoint Coordinates - If a REF WPT entry is made, these
will be the coordinates of that waypoint location. However, a REF
WPT entry need not be made because coordinates may be directly
entered here from which radial and distance may be taken.
RADIAL/DIST - The cursor is first placed over the RADIAL field,
however, if reference coordinates are not defined at line select key
[2L] then [3L] is inoperative. When the reference coordinates are
defined, the RADIAL/DIST fields are prefilled with the radial and
distance of the coordinates at line select key [2R]. When the cursor
is over the RADIAL field containing a valid entry and ENTER is
press, the cursor will advance to the DIST field. If a manual entry is
made in the DIST field, then the coordinates of the entered radial
and distance from the reference waypoint are computed and
displayed at [2R]. The cursor will advance to ACCEPT. If ENTER is
pressed without a DIST entry, then the coordinates will still be
computed (rho/theta) but the cursor will advance to the WPT field of
the WPT/RADIAL line.
WPT/RADIAL - The cursor is placed over the WPT field when
reference coordinates are defined at [2L] and a valid radial is at [3L].
